Which Tastes Better Big Chunks of Cantaloupes or Small Chunks?

In my article How Much Cantaloupe is there in a Cantaloupe?, I mentioned that cantaloupes top my list of most favorite melons; however, I failed to list the different ways one may slice them.

I have written previously that, except for baking blueberry pie, my wife and I cannot be in the kitchen at the same time - we disagree about everything, from stirring cranberry sauce to how to properly dry dishes, and as well, how to cut cantaloupe wedges becomes an issue bordering on the psychotic.

My wife prefers that I cut cantaloupe into small cubes the size of diced peaches like so:

But chunks this size, to my palate, taste horrible and are more suited to making a smoothie or a jam; my preference is to cut them into large crescents and eat them as one would a slice of pizza:

While balled chunks may be OK for watermelon, they are definitely terrible tasting when done to cantaloupe:

I believe cantaloupes need large, sharp, wedge-shapes to taste really delicious.

And so I cut a cantaloupe in half: cutting her half into teeny, tiny dice, while leaving huge chunks for myself. The secret to a happy marriage.
