So You Want to Blog - Avoid Clutter

In my article So You Want to Blog - Get Graphic, I advised my readers who happen to be bloggers: "Don't know what graphic to use in your article? Throw in a cat - half of your audience will go, 'Awwww." Whatever you do, don't overdo. The only thing worse than no graphics, is too much graphics."

However there is an exception to this rule. I would prefer to view an article on "333 Celebrities You Didn't Know Were Gay," with all the images on one page rather than hitting the Next button 333 times. It's too tedious and time consuming. I like the option that the website Business Insider offers their readers: a button to view all the pictures on one page: here is an example:

Some websites clutter their pages with too many ads, some placed so close to the next button that instead of clicking to get to the next image, careless readers accidentally click on an ad; for example, this is what one website listing celebrities who are 33 years old offers its readers:

Clicking on that arrow will not get you to the list of celebrities but to a web advertisement for dating/marrying Colombian women which, if I were not already married, I would probably find more interesting than a list of celebrities who are 33 years old. I will admit that I have inadvertently clicked on an ad instead of proceeding to the next image. I have since vowed not to engage with such websites if they do not offer a "see-the-whole-list-on-one-page" button.

My regular readers know that I always put all my images in one mosaic and offer readers the ability to click on the pertinent panel to view a larger image, so everything is on one page for easy navigation; for example, consider the following from my article 13 Beautiful Hollywood Actresses (as always, click on any panel for a larger view):

I like to make things easy for my readers. So should all webmasters.
