Muslims Go To the Moon - Not

quran on the moon

In an article of mine back in 2010, I reported on the plans of Canadian Astrophysicist and Cosmologist Dr Redouane Al Fakir to launch a scientific station bearing the name of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) and land it on the surface of the moon in 2013. His hope was that by asking Muslims of the world to donate $1 each for the project he would be able to raise the hundreds of millions of dollars needed for the project.

Back in 2010 I expressed doubt that there would ever be a Muhammed Moon Station I on the moon - not in 2013, not ever. So I waited for 2013 to pass and see how Dr. Fakir and his moon project was going. Still no landing.

In 2014 I read that the fund-raising was still going on under the organizational umbrella of a company called Space Launch Canada. But this time Dr. Fakir is looking for large investments from Muslim countries, not individual donors. I could have told him why 99.99% of Muslims have not donated to this project and never will: the Average Muslim can barely make a living on this planet and so going to the moon is a pointless fantasy.

As for getting funding from Islamic nations? Forget about that - as I reported in this article, Islam is an obstacle to science.

The closest Muslims will ever get to putting anything on the lunar landscape is if they Photoshop Quranic text on an image of the moon.
