Bernie Sanders and the Furniture Store that Flopped
Some people should not be in business. Every year or so, a new furniture business opens up in this one particular location in my hometown. And less than a year later that business closes up and soon a new owner comes along and opens up another furniture store in that exact location believing somehow that he would succeed where others had failed.
It's not that the location is bad per se; it's smack in the middle of the business district - but "Location, Location, Location" doesn't apply to every business. The place is a busy corner with good foot traffic, only a block away from a light-rail station and if the right business ever opened there it would succeed; but furniture just cannot sell at that corner - the store is too small for that. It was a stupid idea the first time a furniture retailer tried it as well as the three or four times others tried as well.
Bernie Sanders is that kind of deluded individual. Socialism has failed in every country where it has been instituted but Sanders somehow believes his version will succeed. He ignores for example Venezuela — the purest example of socialism yet existing — now an economic wreck. And what a wreck it is - despite mucho oil riches and fantastico farmland, one cannot easily buy bread there without paying someone a bribe. When I say bread I mean every commodity.
But back to Sanders - it's easy to see why very many young people love him. They're not frightened or daunted by his promise to tax everyone to death since they have no jobs anyway, so taxes are irrelevant as long as someone else pays. The problem with socialism of course is that eventually that someone leaves before he is completely bled dry.
While Sanders is delusional (his brain purposely blinds him to the truth that socialism always fails), the same cannot be said for his followers because they do not know what socialism is or its consequences, and so they are merely clueless morons.
If Sanders ever gets the nomination and even more - actually gets elected - it will be the greatest thing for those who own gold. Bad for the country, bad for those on fixed incomes, but great for gold bugs.
If Sanders becomes President. Goodbye America.
