When Amazon Rules the Earth

If you operate a brick-and-mortar retail store you are undoubtedly concerned with the rise of Amazon and its eventually takeover of the business world. If you value freedom and your life you are undoubtedly concerned with the rise of Islam and its eventually takeover of the civilized world.

The difference of course is that, in contrast with Islam, Amazon will never put you in a cage and set you on fire for buying a product from a competitor.

While it is obvious why we should be worried about the rise of Islam, many people do not realize how widespread and powerful Amazon has become. For example, on a recent Wednesday afternoon my son ordered a game on Amazon. 4 Hours later, that very same evening, an Amazon-uniformed delivery person dropped off his order.

And this without drones!

I can only imagine in the future that homes will be built with air-pressurized tubes feeding into gigantic Amazon warehouses so that just as your finger lifts off the send button, you hear your order whoooshing into your home's tube cargo hold.

And yes, I know there is no send button on your laptop or mobile device but it seems film screenwriters love depicting the protagonist pressing SEND before money can be transferred from bank to bank or to transmit data to someone's email.

Amazon's slogan "Amazon - and your done," applies to millions of American retailers: Soon those businesses will be done.
