The War of the Roses of Mohammed
When I first saw this I thought it was a joke:
Anti-Dhimmi, [now defunct blog]
Hospital Banned Hot Cross Buns To Avoid Offending Non-ChristiansThe latest episode of PC appeasement:
Daily Mail: Hospital that 'banned' hot cross buns to avoid offending non-Christians
Hospital staff claim they were banned from handing out hot cross buns this Easter in case they upset non-Christians.
...
Eventually hospital bosses relented and they were distributed on Easter Monday.
It is interesting to read the Jewish point of view [from the same Daily Mail article]:
Representatives of other religions in the Poole area did not see any problem with serving the buns in hospital.
Rabbi Neil Amswych from the Bournemouth Reform Synagogue said: "I don't eat hot cross buns for two reasons.
"One is that it is a Christian custom and the second reason is that I am on a diet.
"But I don't see why they shouldn't be available. After all, we're in a Christian country and the state religion is Christianity.
"They shouldn't be force-fed, but there is no reason why they shouldn't be available."
So let's see: if Muslims might be offended in a non-Muslim country, we should be sensitive to Muslims. If Muslims are offended in a Muslim country, we should be sensitive to Muslims. Now that's clear. Some of my readers may recall that when Iran was upset with Denmark it decided to rename Danishes to the Roses of Mohammed.
Given that Palestinians ruthlessly slaughter innocent women and children in suicide attacks in Israel when was the last time you heard a Jew asking for the boycott of Crescent Rolls?
Let me know if you ever hear about a Jewish School in America teaching that Christians are Monkeys or that Muslims are Apes.
A Deeper Look Blog,
Saudi bigotry and hatred-- in a school in BritainThis video is about an investigation which revealed what is being taught about Christians and Jews in the King Fahd Academy- a Saudi-backed Islamic school in the U.K. Some of things in the textbooks are quite shocking. For example:
The monkeys are the Jews; and the pigs: they are the Christian infidels at Jesus' table.
Part of the video is an interview with Dr. Sumaya Alyusf, the director of the school. Watching her speak, I was amazed at how evasive she was--I wonder if she believes that people will not see through her crude attempts at taqiyya. (At one point she states outright that the school does not provide books that portray Jews or Christians in a derogatory manner... ). The video is worth watching, if only to see a typical example of taqiyya in action. (Note: This section has been omitted in the version linked to here).
The sort of extremism being espoused in many Islamic schools is also mirrored in much of the preaching inside of mosques a well. British Channel 4's Dispatches' Undercover Mosque program went undercover in several mosques-- what they find may surprise you.
