Breasts not Bombs Anti-war protest

By Bernie on 01 Oct 2007

Bare breasts protest the War in Iraq every September and this year was no different. Last Thursday (27 Sep 2007) five women and one man from the group Breasts not Bombs staged the event in Lafayette Park across from the White House.

According to their website:

Breasts Not Bombs

Breasts Not Bombs is a grassroots movement originating from Mendocino County, CA. We are dedicated to empowering women to speak out for a world that remembers what is sacred and honors the mother. Using political street theater and the act of baring our breasts in public serves as an excellant [sic] forum to speak about the vulnerability of humanity and the earth.

Now I have to tell you, that in general, for the most part, invariably, I am opposed to anti-war demonstrations. However I like the idea of Breasts not Bombs in principle. I think that if the women in Muslim countries ran around bare-breasted there would be fewer frustrated, blue-balled Islamic maniacs running around. Yes, I said it, Bin Laden needs to get laid. Mahmoud the Madman from Iran needs to get laid. All the Mullahs need to get laid. And I don't mean by raping little girls or having sex with goats.

Unfortunately, the Breasts not Bombs movement is hardly likely to take hold in Islamic theocracies. Also unfortunately some of the participants are not that eye-catching to be blunt. Click here for more participants in Breasts not Bombs (Warning - it's not that the photos are NSFW, but rather the folks are just not celebrity attractive).

Now if Scarlett Johansson could only be convinced to show up at one of these demonstrations...

The Nose on Your Face tells us there is also a movement called Vaginas Not Violence.
