Un-Removing Clutter from the Sidebar - ClustrMaps

world map of visitors

One sign of a good business is that it has respect for its customers. Although I use the free version of Clustrmaps, I am still a customer. On Wednesday I began to remove clutter from my sidebar, and decided to start with Clustrmaps, see Removing Clutter from the Sidebar. By Thursday I received this comment from the ClustrMaps Team:

Aw, shucks - you have been a strong and consistent user, and we sure hate to lose you! It would be great if you would re-consider, and we invite you to consider the following: (i) we take great pride in being both very scalable AND very light (tiny jpg image, that is all - nothing else.. if you use option [D] of the 4 codes we provide, you'll see how compact and fast it is; and (ii) there are no extra processing tricks - no scripts, no cookies, nothing is involved.. all the 'heavy lifting' is done in our own server logs and our own overnight batch jobs (iii) how many of your other widget providers are fanatical enough to read what you say about them? (iv) heck, we'll keep you on as a ClustrMaps+ user for free - why not?

Anyway, let us know what you think... your usage and commentary is highly valued.

Many thanks!

What can I say? I am humbled by their kind request. Any business this careful about their customers deserves my support, so I reinstalled Clustrmaps but now I'm using their option D using the minimalist widget and so I will remove some other clutter from my sidebar, but I will be keeping them for some time.

UPDATE Dec 21 2016: I have stopped using ClustrMaps in order to deliver my pages faster to mobile users. See full explanation here.
