Eating on Toilets
Diners have their meals on toilet seats at a toilet-themed restaurant in Hangzhou in Zhejiang province June 29, 2008. The restaurant, which opened on June 1, features toilet seats as dining chairs and food served in miniature bathtubs and toilet bowls. More photos at China Daily.
I suppose you won't be able to complain if your food tastes like crap.
Since the Communist Chinese knock off everything, my guess is that the inspiration for their theme is either das Klo (German for "The toilet"), a restaurant in Berlin, Germany which depicts the insides of a toilet or the Toilet Bowl Restaurant in Taiwan that opened two years ago.
Of course, a toilet-themed restaurant would not work in Arab lands since the toilet is not really a well-known fixture there.
RadarOnline, Hezbollah Neighborhood's New Theme Restaurant
In a Hezbollah-supporting southern suburb of Beirut, restaurant owner Yousef Ibrahim is getting creative with the marketing of his Lebanese fare. At "Buns and Guns," Ibrahim is re-branding traditional favorites, turning, for example, the ordinarily harmless "chicken on a skewer" into the less-delicious-sounding "rocket-propelled grenade."
Other menu items include "terrorist bread," the "RPG sandwich," the "Kalashnikov," the "Dragunov," the "Viper," and the "B52." The restaurant also features a Muzak-like soundtrack of gunfire (the better to chew RPGs to), military post decor, and the catchy motto "A sandwich can kill you."
And here I've been saying Muslims have no Sense of Humor - could I have been wrong all along?
