Echolalia Contraria

When I write, "Muslims are a backward, savage, primitive, violent, barbaric group of people," some Muslim apologist will comment, "Oh yeah, what about Christians 400 years ago?" See (1) below. I suppose by this logic I cannot criticize Nazis because some imbecile will see my Hitler and raise me an Attila the Hun.

If I say that there have been almost 13,000 Muslim barbarities since 9/11 (2), some moron will yell back, "What about Christians bombing abortion clinics?" Yeah, let's look at that: in the past 16 years seven abortion providers have died at the hands of fanatical Christians. Christians murdered 7 people in 16 years. Hell, Muslims murder 7 people every 16 hours. Christians are just like Muslims? Nigga, Please.

This manner of counter-argument is actually a mental illness I call echolalia contraria. That is, no matter the topic, no matter what proof you bring to bear in the argument, no matter what modern Muslim atrocity you give links to, some echolalic contrarian will repeat whatever you write and substitute an infidel word or reference to make a counter-argument.

Take for example, in my comment section I wrote: "Anyone who's been to Lebanon can easily see how the Christian population has declined." Reader Ann, thinking that merely regurgitating my words somehow makes for a cogent reply, left this bit of nonsense: "Anyone whose been to Jerusalem can easily see how the Muslim population has declined."

Ann, dear confused and misinformed Ann, repetition is not counter-argument, especially when what you write is factually incorrect. Obviously, Ann, you have never been to Jerusalem, but since you have already prejudged that Jews must be just as evil as Muslims, you believe your statement to be true. It is not.

Read this you sad, pathetic, dhimmi defender of the Muslim faith:

Pakistan Daily Times, 9 May 2007, Jerusalem's Arab population rising twice as fast as its Jewish

JERUSALEM: The number of Arabs living in Jerusalem grew twice as fast as the city's Jewish population over the past decade, a report published on Tuesday by an Israeli research institute said. At current growth rates, Jews will comprise 60 percent of the holy city's population by 2020 compared with 66 percent now, according to projections by the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies. It said the Arab population would rise from 34 percent to 40 percent over the same period. The city's population in 2007 stands at 720,000 people, a figure that includes east Jerusalem which was captured and later annexed by Israel after the 1967 war, as well as new districts built in the same area. Over the past 40 years the Arab population has grown by 257 percent from 68,000 to its current level of 245,000, while the number of Jews living in the city has risen by 140 percent -- from 200,000 to 475,000. The Arab birth rate for the past decade has been between three percent and four percent, more than double that of Jews. If this trend continues Arabs will make up 50 percent of the population by 2035, the report said.

Doesn't sound like ethnic cleansing to me, Ann. Now don't you feel silly?

Echolalia contraria - don't be a victim of the disease; fight it by thinking before you write.
