Yes, Some Muslims are Funny: Moroccotherapy
By Bernie on 10 Apr 2009
In one of my previous articles I wrote that Muslims have no sense of Humor; I take it back: Despite being 98.7% Muslim, Morocco has a very slick and humorous website at Morocco Therapy, a website aimed at reviving its tourist economy hit by the global economic crisis.
Professor Karam, speaking to you in any of a half-dozen selected languages (English, French, Flemish, Dutch, German,or Italian) invites you to take a test to determine which of the following imaginary illnesses you are suffering from: Acute Furiosis, Lethargitis, Severe Gloomalgia, Listlessosis, or Miserableitis. The cure involves selecting one of 30 Morocco therapies: holiday deals and offers in Morocco.
The campaign is promoted on the internet and in European cities through magazine ads, radio commercials, and the posting of bills in subways. The Moroccan Tourist Board is spending more than $2 million in the UK alone.
Although the financial crisis has hit the travel business all over the world, Muslim countries have fared even worse because of terror attacks 1. Morocco is quite lucky in having suffered only a few terror bombings 2.
Blowing up tourist venues is an excellent way to recruit fresh jihadists. Most Muslim countries have nothing to offer the modern world other than scenery and museums filled with past glories of civilizations destroyed by Islamic conquests, therefore many of their citizens are employed in the tourism business. If they kill that business they'll generate millions of unemployed Muslims. Now normally unemployed men do not pose a significant danger to civilization; however, unemployed Muslims have the additional burden of being Muslim; that is to say, their lives are pretty miserable to begin with: no beer, no barbecues, and no boobies; since almost all earthly delights are denied them in this world, they are tempted with those of the next world. The fastest way to get to Paradise is to jihad against the cursed Crusader and the hated Jew.
It is in this context that I have to pass on visiting Morocco.
Disclaimer: The illnesses shown on the Morocco website are the product of one's own imagination and do not really exist. Although I am not a travel agent, I do offer the following travel advisory: Westerners should not visit, establish businesses, or invest in predominantly Muslim countries or countries with growing Muslim populations. Also, caution is advised when traveling through countries that have Muslim immigrant enclaves. When visiting European countries make sure to ask where Muslims live and make sure not to go anywhere near those areas. If you are a female, please be informed that infidel women are regarded as fair game for rape or murder; even worse you may be abducted and sold into slavery where you will be forced to play "spin on Mohammed's Pillar" with many men who smell of goats.

Afrol News, Tourism to Morocco suffers after terror attack
The first direct economic consequences of the terrorist attacks against Casablanca are already visible in Morocco's major industry; the tourism trade. Operators from neighbouring Spain are already considering their large investments in Morocco, according to reports.
The Friday terrorist attacks against Casablanca - Morocco's financial capital - killing over 40 persons, have significantly affected the interests of Spanish industrials and investors in Morocco. The symbolic act of bombing the Spanish restaurant 'Casa de España' only increased the fears of the important Spanish community, they were becoming terrorism targets.

BBC, Terror blasts rock Casablanca
At least 41 people have been killed and about 100 injured in suicide bomb attacks in Morocco's largest city, Casablanca, local officials say.
The attacks on Friday night targeted a Jewish community centre, a Spanish restaurant and social club, a hotel and the Belgian consulate.
Five explosions occurred within 30 minutes of each other. A Moroccan Government official said all the blasts were triggered by suicide bombers carrying explosives.
Spanish television says another powerful explosion was heard in the Jewish quarter of Casablanca on Saturday afternoon.
The View From Fez, 22 Mar 2007, Aftermath of the Casablanca bombing
Moroccan authorities have arrested 24 suspects in connection with a suicide bombing in Casablanca earlier this month that killed one person and injured four others, a government source said on Wednesday.
...
The bomber, Abdelfettah Raydi, was killed in the blast at an Internet cafe on March 11. His alleged accomplice, Youssef Khoudri, was injured and arrested when he attempted to flee.
Government ministers have said the suspects were seeking "economic targets", such as the Casablanca port, as well as tourist spots in Tanger, Essaouira and Marrakech. They have also said the attack was locally planned.
MSNBC, 10 Apr 2007,3rd explosion rocks Casablanca neighborhood
A fourth suspected suicide bomber blew himself up late on Tuesday in Casablanca, where two others had earlier detonated explosive belts to kill themselves and another was shot dead by police, police sources said.
Two suspected terrorists blew themselves up earlier as police were closing in, killing an officer and a young child, and another suspect was shot and killed by police as he prepared to detonate his explosives, authorities said.
A third explosion rocked the neighborhood as police were searching buildings and rooftops for accomplices.
The blasts, which occurred weeks after the bombing of a Casablanca Internet cafe, promised to further rattle the North African kingdom whose first high-profile brush with Islamic terrorism came in five suicide bombings in the city in May 2003.
Moroccan authorities responded to those attacks, which left 45 people dead, with the arrest of thousands of alleged Islamic militants — some accused of working with al-Qaida to plot strikes in Morocco and abroad.
