Home Foreclosures Cause Jihad

The perpetrator (some liberal idiots continue to call him the suspect) in the Times Square bombing attempt defaulted on a $200,000 mortgage on a Connecticut home. Last September, Chase Home Finance LLC sued Shahzad to force the foreclosure.

Now I know that in the coming days liberal bloggers will want to blame his SIDS (Sudden Islamic Death Syndrome) on his home's foreclosure rather than on Islam itself.

I estimate his mortgage payments including property taxes were $1600 a month. He had a job, he had a wife that could have gotten a job. He even had the money to take a five month vacation in Pakistan. There was no reason to allow his home to go into foreclosure. The reason it went into default was that he was preparing for jihad and not the other way around.

Some bloggers may bring up the case of the moron who flew his plane into a Texas IRS building because he had a grudge against the IRS. Now I do not condone flying planes into IRS buildings although I would not lose sleep if the agency disappeared entirely through some Martian death-ray. However, at least it makes some sort of sense, even if horrific. If our jihadist had left a car bomb in front of the bank that was doing the foreclosure then perhaps liberal apologists for Islam might have a case that it had nothing to do with his religion.

Blaming a Muslim's actions on a home foreclosure is just as absurd as an Iranian cleric's assertion recently that women who wear revealing clothing are to blame for earthquakes.

The photo above is Faisal Shahzad's mailbox at his former home in Connecticut and has absolutely nothing to do with his motives for the attempted attack nor with the subject of this article.

So, apropos of nothing, I would like to mention that three years ago I wrote an article on unusual mailboxes which also has absolutely nothing to do with the recent bombing attempt. But here are a few mailboxes that Faisal Shahzad would never have picked for his home:

Although he did briefly consider the propane tank mailbox:
