Moderate Muslims Need Extremists To Promote Islam

First I should like to make clear what I do not mean by moderate Muslims. I do not mean Muslims who seem to be pro-western in their politics or who appear to be more secular than the norm or even to mean those who are opposed to radical Islam. By moderate Muslims I mean exactly the same as if I wrote moderate Nazis. I do not mean to imply that Muslims are Nazis, rather that the terms are equivalent.

I know what you are thinking, a moderate Nazi is an oxymoron. But you only think that way because no Nazis are around complaining every single day that extremist Nazis have hijacked their ideology.

Moderate Muslims exist only in western, non-Muslim countries. Certainly in Pakistan or Iran, only a self-destructive idiot would call himself a moderate Muslim, or as they are known in Muslim circles, traitors or apostates. If you don't believe me, please leave a link in the comment section which shows any Muslim in a Muslim country calling for the reform of Islam or for the removal of the violent, anti-western, anti-infidel portions of the Qur'an which instruct all devout Muslims to jihad.

No, so-called moderate Muslims can only be found in free societies where they can be safely labeled as moderates. In the Muslim world there are no such distinctions as moderate or radical; there are only those who are active in pushing for a world Caliphate and those who are not standing in the way.

But I maintain that our "moderate Muslims" are still a danger and threat to us. Consider the following conversation between two hypothetical Muslims. The Muslims are hypothetical, but what they are talking about is not.

Ahmed: Faruz, what do you think about Islamic extremists in America? Is it a bad thing, something that makes all of us Muslims look bad?

Faruz: I should be sorry if they stopped their terror.

Ahmed: Oh Really, Why?

Faruz: Think about it. Do you remember when the creators of South Park wanted to insult our Prophet, ṣall Allahu ʿalayhi wa sallam, and all it took was one single Muslim making a verbal threat and poof, they were cowed into censoring themselves?

Ahmed, Ah yes, it comes back to me. He didn't blow up a building or stab anyone, as I recall, he merely reminded them of what happened to Theo Van Gogh.

Faruz: You see. A stupid little convert to Islam with no army behind him, no authority, brings one of America's largest and most powerful corporations to its knees in submission to Allah. It will be a long time before any media company makes fun of our faith again.

Ahmed: Are you sure? Wasn't there a backlash of unbelievers making drawings of Mohamed, peace be upon him, on Facebook?

Faruz: But did you not see what happened? In order to appease 14 Muslim members of Facebook in Pakistan [I exaggerate, there are not that many Muslims in Pakistan who can read], the administrators of Facebook took down that page deciding instead to ignore the wishes of more than 100,000 infidels who wanted the page to stay up.

Ahmed: Perhaps Facebook was merely removing all racist and offensive material from its website.

Faruz: Sometimes, Ahmed, you sound like a camel's fart. Stop being silly; Facebook doesn't mind anti-Semitic pages, for example here are some Jew-hating pages that Facebook could not care less about: I Hate Israel and even Everybody draw Holocaust day (30 June 2010). No, Ahmed, it is plain to see that Facebook has submitted to the will of Islam. It even promised never to allow this insult to ever happen again. (1)

So in the end it is a good thing that some Muslims are killing, burning, mutilating, and bombing for the smallest of slights. It frightens them and there is nothing more pleasing to our soul than to see a cowardly American humbled and submissive. Then when we, "moderate" Muslims, ask for a small concession, they are so afraid they accede to any request, no matter how outrageous.

Ahmed: But won't the unbelievers still blame all Muslims for the killings and burnings?

Faruz: Not at all. We simply say we deplore the actions of these misguided criminals who are acting in complete opposition to the teachings of Islam. It is called plausible deniability.

Ahmed: But they are not acting in opposition to the teachings of our faith. They are carrying out Jihad exactly as instructed in the Qur'an.

Faruz: You know that. I know that. Every devout Muslim who can read knows that. But how many infidels do you know have actually read our most Holy Qur'an?

Ahmed: There's this blogger named Bernie...

Disclaimer: I do not desire and I have no interest in asking Facebook to remove the anti-Jewish pages calling for the destruction of Jews. I do not want Facebook deciding what pages are or are not offensive to its members. If you do not like what you are reading, stop reading - go somewhere else.

PressTV, 'Facebook apologizes over blasphemy'

"In response to our protest, Facebook has tendered their apology and informed us that all the sacrilegious material has been removed from the URL," Najibullah Malik, secretary of Pakistan's information technology ministry, was quoted by AP as saying on Monday.

Islamabad, in turn, lifted a ban it had imposed on the social networking website, after Facebook assured the Pakistani government that "nothing of this sort will happen in the future," Malik said.
