The other title to this post is: "Andrew Sullivan is an idiot." I'll explain why in a minute. First, here is Andrew's explanation of why Ron Paul is able to connect with young voters:

Paul's other great strength is in understanding, in a way neither the current Democrats or Republicans do, that the imperial apparatus inherited from the war against the Soviet Union has to be wound down.

What Andrew Sullivan calls Paul's great strength, his isolationism, is in fact Paul's greatest weakness. If America were not so filled with isolationists in 1914, we would have entered the Great war much earlier, greatly shortening its duration and saving millions of lives (and yes even our own as well) and discouraging the Ottomans, the Bulgarians, and Romanians from joining the war later. Indeed, the Zimmermann Telegram sent to Mexico shows that a great concern of Germany's was keeping America neutral.

If America were not so filled with isolationists in the 1930s, France and the United Kingdom would not have so quickly capitulated to Hitler's demands. As it was, both were set on avoiding war at any cost fearing the prospect of facing a much stronger Germany without American help.

If America were not so filled with isolationists in the 1930s, there would have been no annexation of the Sudetenland, no occupation of Czechoslovakia, no invasion of Poland and consequently no WWII. Tens of millions of lives lost, including 98% of my relatives, all due to the idiotic, cowardly, Ron-Paul-type isolationism of the United States at that time.

I have written previously that Ron Paul is a Dangerous Idiot in regard to his views on the Islamic threat facing western civilization. Ron Paul believes that terrorist attacks against our country are in response to our foreign policy in Muslim countries.

Ron Paul is wrong and doesn't understand Islam. No country in the world has interfered more in Muslim countries, or enslaved more Muslims, than Soviet Russia, yet Osama Bin Laden did not declare war against the Soviets. Why? Because the Soviets did not nor does present day Russia present a threat to the eventual establishment of a world Caliphate. Only the US, the greatest power among the infidels, prevents the Islamic takeover of the world. That is why they hate us (and certainly not because of our freedoms, sorry George Bush, you don't know jack-sh*t about Islam either) and that is why they attack us.
