Military Version of Rule 5
By Bernie on 17 Jun 2012
For those who missed my article Blogging Rule # 5 Or How To Get 1 Million Hits To Your Blog Without Really Trying, Rule 5 is best described as putting up pictures of pretty women to attract visitors to one's blog.
There is a misconception that the women must be naked or nearly naked - not true. For example, in one of my more popular posts, Why Israelis will win against Hezbollah - Photos IDF Babes, the women are covered from head to toe in uniform.
The website THE FIRST STREET JOURNAL also has a Rule 5 category but here is how they explain their version:
... our Rule 5 Blogging doesn’t put up pictures of Anne Hathaway in her summer clothes, but women, in full military gear, serving their countries in the armed forces. The terribly sexist authors on this site celebrate strong women, women who can take care of themselves and take care of others, women who have been willing to put their lives on the line in some not-so-friendly places, women who truly do have the “We can do it!” attitude.
While my article displays photos of women of the modern Israeli Defense Forces, THE FIRST STREET JOURNAL article linked above discusses women in the defense forces decades ago. Here are women of the Palmach at Ein Gedi, 1942:

The Palmach (פלמ”ח) was the elite strike force of the Haganah, the underground army of the Jews during the British Mandate in Palestine.
