The Monuments Men were Wasting Their Time
For one-fourth of the modern globe, for those in blind thrall to the savage cult of Islam, the time before the arrival of their precious raping, looting, pillaging, child-molesting Mohammed, was called "the days of ignorance," which Muslims call jahiliya.
There are murderous and destructive consequences to calling the period before the revelation of the Qur'an a time of ignorance and darkness: the value of pre-Islamic history, culture and monuments is denigrated. That is why prominent Muslim clerics have begun to call for the demolition of Egypt’s Great Pyramids or why Muslims destroy monuments and temples that are part of the world's treasures such as the 1800 year-old Bamiyan Buddhas.
Some readers may ask, "Who cares what Muslims do in their own countries?" As I explained in my article Who Cares What Muslims Do?: Those countries which are now subject to the destruction of ancient artifacts were not always Muslim countries. Likewise, one day, perhaps by 2050, France will become a Muslim-majority country and Muslims may then find infidel art and sculpture, created by men who believe in gods from the time of darkness, as offensive to Islam.
I just watched the rather-boring film (although the subject is intensely interesting to me) The Monuments Men, " where a group of allied art historians during WWII seek to save precious works of art before they are destroyed by the Nazis. Without giving out any spoilers, I thought to myself that all these efforts to save the world's most important paintings, sculpture, and literature are for naught - when Muslims take over the countries which house these great works, they will eventually be destroyed.
Am I Exaggerating?
An ignorant Muslim sympathizer will object: surely Muslims will not want to destroy art such as the Madonna of Bruges, pictured above, because Muslims revere Jesus and Mary.
Oh yeah? In 1966, when I was 21 years old, I visited a 1500-year-old Christian church in Istanbul, Turkey, called the Hagia Sophia, at one time the world's largest cathedral. However it was no longer a church - in 1453 Muslims converted it to a mosque, destroying all the holy relics inside while the mosaics depicting Jesus and his Mother Mary (and other saints) were either destroyed or plastered over.
That's right, Muslims really revere Jesus and Mary - another Islamic Myth.
