The Difference Between Israelis and Palestinians Part 2
In response to my article More Offensive Muslim Jokes, reader SilverWolf offered this joke for my enjoyment (I cleaned his up so it won't get flagged by offensive-language police):
Here is one you probably, maybe never heard as it originated in Israel and was of course in Hebrew
An Israeli and an Arab facing off on opposite sides of the border during (name your Arab war of aggression).
Israeli: Hey Achmed, ACHMED! ( a way of saying Hey man MidEast Style usually by Israelis when talking to an Arab) you still over there?
Arab: Aywa ( Universal Arabic "Yes")
Israeli: F*ck your mother AchmedNow the Arab fell for this several nights in a row and thought to return the taunts
Arab: Hey, Dhimmi Al Yahud (Jewish infidel)
Israeli: That you Achmed?
Arab: Aywa
Israeli: F*ck your mother Achmed
It happens that I did hear a version of this joke when I studied in Israel in 1965, however the version I heard was a bit more clever and was more on point in explaining how tiny Israel surrounded by hundreds of millions of Arabs in 1948 was able to defeat the combined armies of all the Arab nations attacking her:
Israeli soldiers were instructed to approach the Arab lines in the dark of night and yell out, Ahmed, is that you?"
Since so many Arabs were named Ahmed, it was a sure bet someone would stick his head above the sand dunes and respond, "Yes, it's me." At which point, POW!, the Israeli soldier would shoot the Arab.
This would go on night after night. "Ahmed, is that you?" Some Ahmed raises his head and POW!
Finally the Arab commander could take it no longer. He picked his best sniper and ordered him to approach the Israeli line in the dark of night, and yell out, "Hey, Moshe!" and since so many Israelis are named Moshe, the Arab sniper would be able to shoot the first Moshe that responds.
So the Arab sniper approaches the Israeli line and when close enough yells out, "Hey, Moshe!"
An Israeli soldier yells back, "Yes, Ahmed, is that you?" And when the sniper raises his head to respond - POW!
I recall when I first heard this joke I informed the Israeli that the joke was probably inspired by the story of Sergeant York from the First World War wherein York would cackle "Gobble Gobble!" in order to get enemy Germans to raise their head and then shoot them.
