Chimps, Democrats - They are All Dangerous

A New York Post cartoon (18 Feb 2009) associating President Obama's futile stimulus plan to a vicious chimpanzee drew criticism in the blogosphere and from race-baiter Al Sharpton (1). We need to stop this over-sensitivity right now. Otherwise the so-called black leaders will go into a huff-and-puff about some racial slight anytime someone makes a statement such as, "This issue is not as black and white as some in Congress see it."

Here's a hint for my dear Reverend (and I use the word Reverend loosely): THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT WRITE BILLS. Congress does. This cartoon referred to the monkey morons managing money in Congress.

That's it - get over it. Stop whipping up stuff from past centuries. Ooops are you going to complain about the "whipping" remark?

So if I wrote, "Reduced spending is the lynchpin of a sound rescue plan" would blacks be offended and demand I remove the "lynch" from lynchpin?

This brings to mind the "niggardly incident" when a black person misunderstood the meaning of the word niggardly and some poor white shlub had to resign (2). Enough is enough. Now that a black is in the White House everyone needs to get a thicker skin because President Obama will be criticised, blamed, excoriated, denounced, and lampooned. Get used to it and stop screaming over every little thing like a drag Queen who broke her nail.

In my post from last year, The Right to Insult Muslims I wrote:

Why have we become a society of easily-offended pussies? We can't report on black crime because the telling of truth there is interpreted as racist. We can't have pinup calendars in the workplace because it's anti-feminist. We sue McDonald's because mothers can't face their own responsibility of their children's diet, printing anything unfavorable to Muslims is bigotry, and if business people treat us with insulting behaviour we sue them for 54 million dollars. Everybody takes everything personally.

CNN, Sharpton blasts Post cartoon linking stimulus bill to chimp

A New York Post cartoon Wednesday drew fire from civil rights activist Al Sharpton and others who say the drawing invokes historically racist images in suggesting an ape wrote President Barack Obama's economic stimulus package.

Al Sharpton says he wonders whether the cartoon "is making a less-than-casual inference" to a form of racism.

The artist, Sean Delonas, called Sharpton's reaction "ridiculous," and the newspaper defended its decision to run his cartoon. But other African-American leaders joined Sharpton, who has been the butt of previous Delonas panels, in attacking what they called the cartoon's racial overtones.
...
The cartoon showed two police officers standing over the body of a chimpanzee they just shot, a reference to this week's mauling of a Connecticut woman by a pet chimp, which police killed after the attack. In the cartoon, one of the officers tells the other, "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill."
...
"The cartoon in today's New York Post is troubling at best, given the racist attacks throughout history that have made African-Americans synonymous with monkeys," Sharpton said.

Sharpton questioned whether Delonas "is making a less-than-casual inference to this form of racism."

...

"The Post should at least clarify what point they were trying to make in this cartoon, and reprimand their cartoonist for making inferences that are offensive and divisive at a time the nation struggles to come together to stabilize the economy if, in fact, this was yet another racially charged cartoon," he said.

In a brief phone interview with CNN, Delonas called the controversy "absolutely friggin' ridiculous."

"Do you really think I'm saying Obama should be shot? I didn't see that in the cartoon," Delonas said.

"It's about the economic stimulus bill," he added. "If you're going to make that about anybody, it would be [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi, which it's not."

Wiki, Controversies about the word "niggardly"

On January 15, 1999, David Howard, a white aide to Anthony A. Williams, the black mayor of Washington, D.C., used the word in reference to a budget. This apparently upset one of his black colleagues (identified by Howard as Marshall Brown), who incorrectly interpreted it as a racial slur and lodged a complaint. As a result, on January 25 Howard tendered his resignation, and Williams accepted it
