Islam is the Fastest Growing Religion - Not from Planck's Constant

Time to add a new category: Islamic Myths. I should have started this much sooner. I will be going back to previous posts to tag any that should be included so expect to see entries being added as time goes by.

In response to my article More Offensive Muslim Jokes, a reader calling herself "teenage Muslim girl in the US" left a comment informing me that: "Actually, it was just recently stated that Islam has become the most popular religion in the world, and it is still the fastest growing. So we are not second anymore."

One sees this type of nonsense on thousands of forums and blogs as if size and speed of growth are proof that Islam is the one and only true and perfect religion. Actually cancer spreads just as fast and affects more people, so does that make cancer the one and only true and perfect disease?

But let's look at the numbers.

According to Adherents.com ¹, Christianity is the largest religion, followed by Islam and then by those who do not believe in God or non-religious coming in third. More than 75% of the peoples of Earth are not Muslims. That is to say, Islam is not the most popular religion.

But is it the fastest growing? And if so, does this show that people are choosing Islam over other religions?

Certainly Muslims reproduce faster than rabbits. At least rabbits have the good sense not to fill their warrens more than their numbers can sustain. Muslims in Europe are the least employed, the most poverty-ridden, the most likely to be criminals, the least able to provide for themselves and yet their fertility rates are the highest on the continent. And since a child of Muslim parents must become Muslim then certainly Islam is the fastest growing religion in western countries, although this has nothing to do with choice but with fertility.

So if you want to say your religion is growing fast because its adherents reproduce like cockroaches, fine. But this has nothing to do with choosing a religion because of its beauty or truth or perfection.

If Muslims were allowed to become non-Muslim without the risk of death most of those who are born Muslim would undoubtedly choose some other religion.

I say this because of the facts. When those who are neither Muslim nor Christian are given a choice of religion without compulsion, the overwhelming choice is Christianity. During the period 1990 to 2000 [Chart] 2,501,396 people converted to Christianity, while 865,558 converted to Islam and most of the latter were likely forced conversions (see my article When Infidel Women Say No).

Thus if one looks at which religion is the fastest growing one by choice, it isn't Islam. As for the fastest growing by sheer numbers, it isn't Islam. In terms of percentage growth, it isn't Islam - the statistics say that Baha'is are growing at a faster rate (2.28) and faster still are Zoroastrians (2.65). If you Muslims believe that the fastest growing religion must be the one true religion then you better convert to one of those religions that you are currently persecuting.

So Muslim Girl, Islam is not the most popular, is certainly not the choice of most of those converting, and is only the fastest growing in places where other populations are less fertile.

The truth is, without American and European aid and technology, your backward, primitive, savage, ignorant asses would be decimated by hunger, misery and disease. That is to say, without Christian Charity Islam would be the slowest growing religion.

It's sad that your schools only teach you to hate the West while we are the only thing keeping you alive.
