Muslim Christmas Toys - Hijabi Chatty Cathy
Two years ago I offered my readers 13 Christmas Gifts for our Muslim Friends and 13 Top Books for Muslim Children.
What is even more difficult to find are Christmas Toys for Muslim children and so as a public service to my many Muslim readers I have been scouring the Internet looking for these hard-to-find toys.
During the next few weeks until Christmas, I will present toys that are especially made for the young Islamic faithful.
My first item for your consideration is Hijabi Chatty Cathy, a pull-string talking doll, seen in the photo right.
I read yesterday that these dolls are now available at Toys "R" Us, so I called the nearest store in Jersey City.
Me: Hi, can you tell me if you have any Hijabi Chatty Cathys in stock?
Salesclerk: Yes we do.
Me: Can you tell me if she speaks Arabic or English?
Salesclerk: No, I'm sorry we don't know.
Me: I don't understand, why not?
Salesclerk: No one in the store has the nerve to pull the string.
Disclaimer: Seriously, the Hijabi Chatty Cathy Doll is my name for an actual Talking Muslim doll called Aamina who is a 16 inch soft plush doll that speaks and sings in English and Arabic. Aamina speaks when you press her hands and feet - a wise marketing move since a string in the back could look like a fuse to infidels.
Aamina will recite some essential Qur'anic words, phrases and surahs together with their meanings, including: As-Salamu'Alaikum, Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem, Al-hamdu lillah, La ilaha illallah, Muhammad dur Rasul'llah, and other phrases.
I caution my infidel readers not to buy this doll and remove her veil and do despicable things to her. That is haraam. My Muslim readers need no such caution as they already go out and do despicable things to young girls of 9 and 12 after they marry them.
