Things of Interest to Bloggers
Once in a while I like to discuss the mechanics of blogging; although only a small number of my readers are bloggers, the following tidbits might be of interest even to non-bloggers.
For instance, some of my readers may have a noticed that I introduced ReadSpeaker's text-to-speech webReader over a month ago on my blog. If you haven't tried it yet, click on the Listen icon just before the article starts. Out of 126,000 of my articles viewed in the past 30 days at least 8,127 readers clicked to listen to my articles.
Another web application I installed recently was Print Friendly, which renders my articles into exactly what it says, a Print Friendly format. The icon is at the end of my article, take a test drive. During the last 30 days, 2205 of my articles were printed using this application.
Also, because I encourage other bloggers to reprint my articles in their entirety including images without needing written permission from me, there have been more than 20,000 downloads of my articles and images in the past 30 days.
Since I make it easy for others to copy and paste my articles, I find that a good number of my readers come from websites all over the world that have reprinted or excerpted my articles and photos. Click on the map image above for an interactive exploration of my readership by regions of the world.
While all the above may seem as if written only to pimp my blog, it is in actuality an acknowledgment of my gratitude to my readers. None of the statistics would be possible without you, my dear readers. And while my blog numbers are minuscule compared to say Little Green Footballs (I have 20 times fewer page views), my blog numbers are not too shabby for a guy who started many years later. And unlike the thin-skinned blogger who runs LGF, I have no problem allowing my readers to disagree with me vehemently.
I allow my readers to say whatever they want (they can even call me a dirty Jew). I do this for a number of reasons:
- To expose the intellectual poverty of those who defend Islam.
- To expose the hatred and intolerance of the followers of the Religion of Peace.
- As fodder for future articles.
- Words don't hurt me.
- And most importantly: I promised my readers that I will not delete a comment simply because I disagree with it.
Read some of the comments in my most commented and republished post, Muslim Humor - Muslim Jokes, for samples of Muslim responses to my articles.
