Before there was Disney, amusement rides were generic affairs. A kiddie ride was just a kiddie ride. Disney turned the ride into a themed whole with the architecture, landscaping, and even the food supporting a specific movie and set of characters. More often than not the ride exits into a store selling the themed products.
In my article When is Too Many Muslims? I noted: "As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone." Actually I was wrong - I should amend that to one-tenth of 1%. We have 1% Muslims in America and at that level they are indeed a big pain in the ass.
I love the way Disney keeps its resorts clean. I enjoy their hospitality and the value they place on their customers. I think they do a great job in promoting the Disney brand. In almost all respects they run a great business. However, they still don't get the Internet. 
The Magic Kingdom fireworks view from the 11th floor of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is more spectacular than even at the Magic Kingdom itself. Instead of only seeing a small section of sky from the ground at the park, we see the entire panoramic display from our balcony.
One of the fastest ways to Newark Airport requires going on the New Jersey Turnpike and so I was shocked to see our driver getting into the cash lane instead of the EZPASS lane. The driver said his boss didn't want his drivers getting EZPASS. It took us an additional ten minutes to go through the toll than it should have taken.

I also get some help from my readers who email me that a particular link now points to a spam site that took the domain name abandoned by the original blogger. Imagine if after WWII the Japanese built a Shinto Shrine to commemorate the deaths of their flying heroes and placed it on the shore so that from the rooftop one could easily view the USS Arizona Memorial in Pear Harbor. Wouldn't that have been nice?
Given a choice between an Apple product or a knock-off I will choose the knock-off because I will be treated better by that manufacturer, I will not be locked into buying peripheral products at inflated prices, and I will have a greater choice of colors, sizes, and models than with any Apple product.
